Wie Diamant
„Mönche und Nonnen, diese drei Personen findet man in der Welt. Welche drei? Eine Person, deren Geist wie eine eiternde Wunde ist, eine Person, deren Geist wie ein Blitz ist, und eine Person, deren Geist wie Diamant ist.
Und wer ist die Person, deren Geist wie eine eiternde Wunde ist? Da ist eine Person zornig und schlecht gelaunt. Selbst wenn sie nur leicht kritisiert wird, verliert sie die Beherrschung, wird ärgerlich, feindselig und starrköpfig und zeigt Ärger, Hass und Unmut. Wie eine eiternde Wunde: Wenn man mit einem Stock oder Stein darauf drückt, entleert sie noch mehr Eiter. Ebenso ist da eine Person zornig und schlecht gelaunt. Selbst wenn sie nur leicht kritisiert wird, verliert sie die Beherrschung, wird ärgerlich, feindselig und starrköpfig und zeigt Ärger, Hass und Unmut. Das nennt man eine Person, deren Geist wie eine eiternde Wunde ist.
Und wer ist die Person, deren Geist wie ein Blitz ist? Da versteht eine Person wahrhaftig: ‚Das ist das Leiden.‘ … ‚Das ist der Ursprung des Leidens.‘ … ‚Das ist das Aufhören des Leidens.‘ … ‚Das ist die Übung, die zum Aufhören des Leidens führt.‘ Wie ein Mensch mit scharfen Augen, der im Dunkel der Nacht bei einem Blitzstrahl sehen kann – ebenso versteht da eine Person wahrhaftig: ‚Das ist das Leiden.‘ … ‚Das ist der Ursprung des Leidens.‘ … ‚Das ist das Aufhören des Leidens.‘ … ‚Das ist die Übung, die zum Aufhören des Leidens führt.‘ Das nennt man eine Person, deren Geist wie ein Blitz ist.
Und wer ist die Person, deren Geist wie Diamant ist? Da erlangt eine Person mit der Auflösung der Befleckungen in eben diesem Leben die fleckenlose Freiheit des Herzens, die fleckenlose Freiheit durch Weisheit, erkennt sie durch eigene Einsicht und lebt darin. Wie ein Diamant, der von nichts zerschnitten werden kann, von keinem Edelstein und von keinem Felsen. Ebenso erlangt da eine Person mit der Auflösung der Befleckungen in eben diesem Leben die fleckenlose Freiheit des Herzens, die fleckenlose Freiheit durch Weisheit … Das nennt man eine Person, deren Geist wie Diamant ist.
Das sind die drei Personen, die man in der Welt findet.“

“These three individuals are found in the world. What three? An individual with a mind like an open sore, an individual with a mind like lightning, and an individual with a mind like diamond.
And who has a mind like an open sore? It’s an individual who is irritable and bad-tempered. Even when lightly criticized they lose their temper, becoming annoyed, hostile, and hard-hearted, and they display annoyance, hate, and bitterness. They’re like a festering sore, which, when you hit it with a stick or a stone, discharges even more. In the same way, an individual is irritable and bad-tempered. This is called an individual with a mind like an open sore.
And who has a mind like lightning? It’s an individual who truly understands: ‘This is suffering’ … ‘This is the origin of suffering’ … ‘This is the cessation of suffering’ … ‘This is the practice that leads to the cessation of suffering’. They’re like a person with keen eyes in the dark of the night, who sees by a flash of lightning. In the same way, an individual truly understands: ‘This is suffering’ … ‘This is the origin of suffering’ … ‘This is the cessation of suffering’ … ‘This is the practice that leads to the cessation of suffering’. This is called an individual with a mind like lightning.
And who has a mind like diamond? It’s an individual who realizes the undefiled freedom of heart and freedom by wisdom in this very life. And they live having realized it with their own insight due to the ending of defilements. It’s like a diamond, which can’t be cut by anything at all, not even a gem or a stone. In the same way, an individual realizes the undefiled freedom of heart and freedom by wisdom in this very life. … This is called an individual with a mind like diamond.
These are the three individuals found in the world.”
Vajirūpamasutta
“Tayome, bhikkhave, puggalā santo saṁvijjamānā lokasmiṁ. Katame tayo? Arukūpamacitto puggalo, vijjūpamacitto puggalo, vajirūpamacitto puggalo.
Katamo ca, bhikkhave, arukūpamacitto puggalo? Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco puggalo kodhano hoti upāyāsabahulo appampi vutto samāno abhisajjati kuppati byāpajjati patitthīyati kopañca dosañca appaccayañca pātukaroti. Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, duṭṭhāruko kaṭṭhena vā kaṭhalāya vā ghaṭṭito bhiyyoso mattāya āsavaṁ deti; evamevaṁ kho, bhikkhave, idhekacco puggalo kodhano hoti upāyāsabahulo appampi vutto samāno abhisajjati kuppati byāpajjati patitthīyati kopañca dosañca appaccayañca pātukaroti. Ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, arukūpamacitto puggalo.

Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, cakkhumā puriso rattandhakāratimisāyaṁ vijjantarikāya rūpāni passeyya; evamevaṁ kho, bhikkhave, idhekacco puggalo ‘idaṁ dukkhan’ti yathābhūtaṁ pajānāti …pe… ‘ayaṁ dukkhanirodhagāminī paṭipadā’ti yathābhūtaṁ pajānāti. Ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, vijjūpamacitto puggalo.
Katamo ca, bhikkhave, vajirūpamacitto puggalo? Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco puggalo āsavānaṁ khayā anāsavaṁ cetovimuttiṁ paññāvimuttiṁ diṭṭheva dhamme sayaṁ abhiññā sacchikatvā upasampajja viharati. Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, vajirassa natthi kiñci abhejjaṁ maṇi vā pāsāṇo vā; evamevaṁ kho, bhikkhave, idhekacco puggalo āsavānaṁ khayā …pe… upasampajja viharati. Ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, vajirūpamacitto puggalo.
Ime kho, bhikkhave, tayo puggalā santo saṁvijjamānā lokasmin”ti.
