6. Nīvaraṇavagga
Ein Haufen Untaugliches
„Mönche und Nonnen, die fünf Hindernisse würde man zu Recht einen Haufen Untaugliches nennen. Denn diese fünf Hindernisse sind durch und durch ein Haufen Untaugliches. Welche fünf? Das Hindernis des sinnlichen Begehrens, des bösen Willens, der Dumpfheit und Benommenheit, der Rastlosigkeit und Reue sowie des Zweifels. Diese fünf Hindernisse würde man zu Recht einen Haufen Untaugliches nennen. Denn diese fünf Hindernisse sind durch und durch ein Haufen Untaugliches.“
A Heap of the Unskillful
“Mendicants, rightly speaking, you’d call the five hindrances a ‘heap of the unskillful’. For these five hindrances are entirely a heap of the unskillful. What five? The hindrances of sensual desire, ill will, dullness and drowsiness, restlessness and remorse, and doubt. Rightly speaking, you’d call these five hindrances a ‘heap of the unskillful’. For these five hindrances are entirely a heap of the unskillful.”
Akusalarāsisutta
“Akusalarāsīti, bhikkhave, vadamāno pañca nīvaraṇe sammā vadamāno vadeyya. Kevalo hāyaṁ, bhikkhave, akusalarāsi yadidaṁ pañca nīvaraṇā. Katame pañca? Kāmacchandanīvaraṇaṁ, byāpādanīvaraṇaṁ, thinamiddhanīvaraṇaṁ, uddhaccakukkuccanīvaraṇaṁ, vicikicchānīvaraṇaṁ. Akusalarāsīti, bhikkhave, vadamāno ime pañca nīvaraṇe sammā vadamāno vadeyya. Kevalo hāyaṁ, bhikkhave, akusalarāsi yadidaṁ pañca nīvaraṇā”ti.
