„Mönche und Nonnen, ein Mönch, der sieben Eigenschaften besitzt, ist seinen geistlichen Gefährten unlieb und verhasst, wird nicht geachtet und nicht bewundert. Welche sieben? Es ist, wenn ein Mönch nach Besitz, Ehre und Stellung verlangt. Er ist gewissenlos und unbesonnen. Er ist eifersüchtig und geizig. Ein Mönch, der diese sieben Eigenschaften besitzt, ist seinen geistlichen Gefährten unlieb und verhasst, wird nicht geachtet und nicht bewundert.
Ein Mönch, der sieben Eigenschaften besitzt, ist seinen geistlichen Gefährten lieb und teuer, wird geachtet und bewundert. Welche sieben? Es ist, wenn ein Mönch nicht nach Besitz, Ehre und Stellung verlangt. Er besitzt Gewissen und Besonnenheit. Er ist nicht eifersüchtig und nicht geizig. Ein Mönch, der diese sieben Eigenschaften besitzt, ist seinen geistlichen Gefährten lieb und teuer, wird geachtet und bewundert.“

It’s when a mendicant desires material things, honor, and status. They lack conscience and prudence. They’re jealous and stingy. A mendicant with these seven qualities is disliked and disapproved by their spiritual companions, not respected or admired.
A mendicant with seven qualities is liked and approved by their spiritual companions, respected and admired. What seven? It’s when a mendicant doesn’t desire material things, honor, and status. They have conscience and prudence. They’re not jealous or stingy. A mendicant with these seven qualities is liked and approved by their spiritual companions, respected and admired.”

“Sattahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu sabrahmacārīnaṁ appiyo ca hoti amanāpo ca agaru ca abhāvanīyo ca. Katamehi sattahi? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu lābhakāmo ca hoti, sakkārakāmo ca hoti, anavaññattikāmo ca hoti, ahiriko ca hoti, anottappī ca, issukī ca, maccharī ca. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, sattahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu sabrahmacārīnaṁ appiyo ca hoti amanāpo ca agaru ca abhāvanīyo ca.
Sattahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu sabrahmacārīnaṁ piyo ca hoti manāpo ca garu ca bhāvanīyo ca. Katamehi sattahi? Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu na lābhakāmo ca hoti, na sakkārakāmo ca hoti, na anavaññattikāmo ca hoti, hirīmā ca hoti, ottappī ca, anissukī ca, amaccharī ca. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, sattahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu sabrahmacārīnaṁ piyo ca hoti manāpo ca garu ca bhāvanīyo cā”ti.
