Über das Erlöschen (2)

So habe ich es gehört: Einmal hielt sich der Buddha bei Sāvatthī in Jetas Wäldchen auf, dem Kloster des Anāthapiṇḍika. Da nun leitete der Buddha die Mönche und Nonnen mit einem Dhammavortrag über das Erlöschen an, ermunterte, begeisterte und erhob sie. Und diese Mönche und Nonnen gaben acht, gebrauchten den Geist, waren mit ganzem Herzen dabei und spitzten die Ohren.

Und da er diese Sache verstand, drückte der Buddha bei dieser Gelegenheit dieses innige Gefühl aus:

„Was sie das ‚Ungeneigte‘ nennen, ist schwer zu sehen, denn die Wahrheit ist nicht leicht zu sehen. Für den, der das Verlangen durchdrungen hat, den, der erkennt und sieht, ist da nichts.“

So I have heard. At one time the Buddha was staying near Sāvatthī in Jeta’s Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika’s monastery. Now at that time the Buddha was educating, encouraging, firing up, and inspiring the mendicants with a Dhamma talk about extinguishment. And those mendicants were paying attention, applying the mind, concentrating wholeheartedly, and actively listening.

Then, understanding this matter, on that occasion the Buddha expressed this heartfelt sentiment:

“It’s hard to see what they call the ‘uninclined’, for the truth is not easy to see. For one who has penetrated craving, who knows and sees, there is nothing.”

Evaṁ me sutaṁ— ekaṁ samayaṁ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṁ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme. Tena kho pana samayena bhagavā bhikkhū nibbānapaṭisaṁyuttāya dhammiyā kathāya sandasseti samādapeti samuttejeti sampahaṁseti. Tedha bhikkhū aṭṭhiṁ katvā manasi katvā sabbaṁ cetaso samannāharitvā ohitasotā dhammaṁ suṇanti.

Atha kho bhagavā etamatthaṁ viditvā tāyaṁ velāyaṁ imaṁ udānaṁ udānesi:

“Duddasaṁ anataṁ nāma, na hi saccaṁ sudassanaṁ; Paṭividdhā taṇhā jānato, passato natthi kiñcanan”ti.
