Reisevorrat
„Was hält den Reisevorrat zusammen? Was ist der Tresor für das Vermögen? Was zieht einen Menschen herum? Was ist in der Welt schwer aufzugeben? Womit sind gewöhnliche Wesen gebunden wie Vögel in einer Schlinge?“
„Vertrauen hält den Reisevorrat zusammen. Herrschaft ist der Tresor für das Vermögen. Das Wünschen zieht einen Menschen herum. Das Wünschen ist in der Welt schwer aufzugeben. Mit dem Wünschen sind gewöhnliche Wesen gebunden wie Vögel in einer Schlinge.“
Provisions
“What binds the provisions for a journey? What’s the vault of wealth? What drags a person around? What in the world is hard to give up? With what are ordinary beings bound, like birds in a snare?”
“Faith binds the provisions for a journey. Majesty is the vault of wealth. Desire drags a person around. Desire in the world is hard to give up. Ordinary beings are bound by desire, like birds in a snare.”
Pātheyyasutta
“Kiṁsu bandhati pātheyyaṁ, kiṁsu bhogānamāsayo; Kiṁsu naraṁ parikassati, kiṁsu lokasmi dujjahaṁ; Kismiṁ baddhā puthū sattā, pāsena sakuṇī yathā”ti.
“Saddhā bandhati pātheyyaṁ, sirī bhogānamāsayo; Icchā naraṁ parikassati, icchā lokasmi dujjahā; Icchābaddhā puthū sattā, pāsena sakuṇī yathā”ti.
