Götter der warmen Wolken
In Sāvatthī.
Als er sich zur Seite hingesetzt hatte, sagte dieser Mönch zum Buddha:
„Was ist der Grund, Herr, was ist die Ursache, dass es manchmal warm wird?“
„Mönch, da sind die Götter, die man Götter der warmen Wolken nennt. Manchmal denken sie: ‚Warum tummeln wir uns nicht in unserer eigenen Art von Vergnügen?‘ Dann wird es gemäß ihrem Wunsch warm. Das ist der Grund, das ist die Ursache, dass es manchmal warm wird.“
Gods of the Warm Thunderclouds
At Sāvatthī.
Seated to one side, that mendicant said to the Buddha:
“Sir, what is the cause, what is the reason why sometimes it becomes warm?”
“Mendicant, there are what are called gods of the warm thunderclouds. Sometimes they think: ‘Why don’t we revel in our own kind of enjoyment?’ Then, in accordance with their wish, it becomes warm. This is the cause, this is the reason why sometimes it becomes warm.”

Ekamantaṁ nisinno kho so bhikkhu bhagavantaṁ etadavoca:
“ko nu kho, bhante, hetu, ko paccayo, yenekadā uṇhaṁ hotī”ti?
“Santi, bhikkhu, uṇhavalāhakā nāma devā. Tesaṁ yadā evaṁ hoti: ‘yannūna mayaṁ sakāya ratiyā vaseyyāmā’ti, tesaṁ taṁ cetopaṇidhimanvāya uṇhaṁ hoti. Ayaṁ kho, bhikkhu, hetu, ayaṁ paccayo, yenekadā uṇhaṁ hotī”ti.
