Frei von Gier
„Mönche und Nonnen, ein altehrwürdiger Mönch, der fünf Eigenschaften besitzt, ist seinen geistlichen Gefährten unlieb und unangenehm, wird nicht geachtet und nicht bewundert. Welche fünf? Er ist nicht frei von Gier, Hass und Täuschung und er ist beleidigend und verächtlich. Ein altehrwürdiger Mönch, der diese fünf Eigenschaften besitzt, ist seinen geistlichen Gefährten unlieb und unangenehm, wird nicht geachtet und nicht bewundert.

Er ist frei von Gier, Hass und Täuschung und er ist nicht beleidigend oder verächtlich. “Pañcahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato thero bhikkhu sabrahmacārīnaṁ appiyo ca hoti amanāpo ca agaru ca abhāvanīyo ca. Katamehi pañcahi? Avītarāgo hoti, avītadoso hoti, avītamoho hoti, makkhī ca, paḷāsī ca— imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato thero bhikkhu sabrahmacārīnaṁ appiyo ca hoti amanāpo ca agaru ca abhāvanīyo ca.
Pañcahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato thero bhikkhu sabrahmacārīnaṁ piyo ca hoti manāpo ca garu ca bhāvanīyo ca. Katamehi pañcahi? Vītarāgo hoti, vītadoso hoti, vītamoho hoti, amakkhī ca, apaḷāsī ca— imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato thero bhikkhu sabrahmacārīnaṁ piyo ca hoti manāpo ca garu ca bhāvanīyo cā”ti.
