The four contemplations follow the discourse on the four foundations of mindfulness (Satipaṭṭhāna, MN 10) — body, feelings, mind and mind-objects. Alongside them a meditation of loving kindness (Mettā). Under each recording you will find the matching study texts and discourses for going deeper. The recordings are spoken in German.
The four satipaṭṭhāna contemplations
-
The body
Kāyānupassanā 34 minA guided contemplation of the body — the first foundation of mindfulness: the breath, posture, clear knowing of every movement.
-
The feelings
Vedanānupassanā 48 minA guided contemplation of feelings — pleasant, unpleasant, neutral: recognising how every experience is coloured, without following after it.
-
Mental patterns
Cittānupassanā 47 minA guided contemplation of the mind — seeing its states and patterns directly: collected or scattered, wide or narrow.
-
Mind-objects
Dhammānupassanā 48 minA guided contemplation of mind-objects — the hindrances, the aggregates, the factors of awakening: finding the teaching again in one's own experience.
Loving kindness
-
Loving kindness
Mettā 21 minA guided mettā meditation — unfolding goodwill: for oneself, for those close to us, for all beings without exception.
