Reichtum, kurz

„Mönche und Nonnen, es gibt sieben Reichtümer. Welche sieben? Reichtum an Vertrauen, Tugend, Gewissen, Besonnenheit, Gelehrsamkeit, Großzügigkeit und Weisheit. Das sind die sieben Reichtümer.

Vertrauen und Tugend sind Reichtümer,
auch Gewissen und Besonnenheit,
Gelehrsamkeit und Großzügigkeit,
und Weisheit ist der siebte Reichtum.

Wenn eine Frau oder ein Mann
diese Reichtümer besitzt,
gelten sie als wohlhabend,
und ihr Leben ist nicht umsonst.

Daher soll ein verständiger Mensch
sich dem Vertrauen, der Tugend,
der Zuversicht und dem Sehen der Wahrheit weihen
und sich an die Anleitung der Buddhas erinnern.“

Wealth in Brief

“Mendicants, there are these seven kinds of wealth. What seven? The wealth of faith, ethics, conscience, prudence, learning, generosity, and wisdom. These are the seven kinds of wealth.

Faith and ethical conduct are kinds of wealth,
as are conscience and prudence,
learning and generosity,
and wisdom is the seventh kind of wealth.

When a woman or man
has these kinds of wealth,
they’re said to be prosperous,
their life is not in vain.

So let the wise devote themselves
to faith, ethical behavior,
confidence, and insight into the teaching,
remembering the instructions of the Buddhas.”

Saṅkhittadhanasutta

“Sattimāni, bhikkhave, dhanāni. Katamāni satta? Saddhādhanaṁ, sīladhanaṁ, hirīdhanaṁ, ottappadhanaṁ, sutadhanaṁ, cāgadhanaṁ, paññādhanaṁ. Imāni kho, bhikkhave, satta dhanānīti.

Saddhādhanaṁ sīladhanaṁ,
hirī ottappiyaṁ dhanaṁ;
Sutadhanañca cāgo ca,
paññā ve sattamaṁ dhanaṁ.

Yassa ete dhanā atthi,
itthiyā purisassa vā;
Adaliddoti taṁ āhu,
amoghaṁ tassa jīvitaṁ.

Tasmā saddhañca sīlañca,
Pasādaṁ dhammadassanaṁ;
Anuyuñjetha medhāvī,
Saraṁ buddhāna sāsanan”ti.
