Gutes Verhalten

Das wurde vom Buddha, dem Vollendeten, gesagt; das habe ich gehört:

„Mönche und Nonnen, es gibt diese drei Arten von gutem Verhalten. Welche drei? Gutes Verhalten mit dem Körper, der Sprache und dem Geist. Das sind die drei Arten von gutem Verhalten.“ Der Buddha sprach diese Sache. Dazu wird gesagt:

„Nachdem er schlechtes Verhalten
mit dem Körper,
der Sprache und dem Geist aufgegeben hat
und was sonst noch verdorben ist;

nachdem er nichts Schlechtes
und viel Gutes getan hat,
wird dieser weise Mensch, wenn sein Körper auseinanderbricht,
im Himmel wiedergeboren.“

Auch das ist eine Sache, die vom Gesegneten gesprochen wurde: Das habe ich gehört.

Chapter Two

Good Conduct

This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.

“Mendicants, there are these kinds of good conduct. What three? Good conduct by way of body, speech, and mind. These are the three kinds of good conduct.” The Buddha spoke this matter. On this it is said:

“Having given up bad conduct
by way of body,
speech, and mind,
and whatever else is corrupt;

not having done bad deeds,
and having done many good,
when their body breaks up, that wise person
is reborn in heaven.”

This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.

Dutiyavagga

Sucaritasutta

Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:

“Tīṇimāni, bhikkhave, sucaritāni. Katamāni tīṇi? Kāyasucaritaṁ, vacīsucaritaṁ, manosucaritaṁ— imāni kho, bhikkhave, tīṇi sucaritānī”ti. Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca. Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:

“Kāyaduccaritaṁ hitvā,
vacīduccaritāni ca;
Manoduccaritaṁ hitvā,
yañcaññaṁ dosasaṁhitaṁ.

Akatvākusalaṁ kammaṁ,
katvāna kusalaṁ bahuṁ;
Kāyassa bhedā sappañño,
saggaṁ so upapajjatī”ti.

Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
