Siṅgālas Vater

Da war ein Erbe des Buddha,
ein Mönch in Bhesakaḷās Wald,
der die gesamte Erde
mit der Wahrnehmung von Knochen durchströmte.
Ich denke, er wird sinnliches Verlangen
rasch loswerden.

Chapter Two

There was an heir of the Buddha,
a monk in Bhesakaḷā forest,
who suffused the entire earth
with the perception of bones.
I think he will quickly
get rid of sensual desire.

Siṅgālapituttheragāthā

“Ahu buddhassa dāyādo,
bhikkhu bhesakaḷāvane;
Kevalaṁ aṭṭhisaññāya,
apharī pathaviṁ imaṁ;
Maññehaṁ kāmarāgaṁ so,
khippameva pahissatī”ti.
