3. Das dritte Kapitel

Bhaddaji

Da war ein König mit Namen Panāda,
der hatte einen Opferpfahl von reinem Gold.
Er war sechzehn mal so hoch wie breit
und am oberen Ende tausendfach aufgefächert.

Er hatte tausend Tafeln und hundert Kugelkappen,
alle mit Wimpeln geschmückt und aus Sonnengold gemacht.
Da tanzten die Zentauren,
sieben mal sechstausend an der Zahl.

Chapter Three

Bhaddaji

There was a king named Panāda
who had a sacrificial post all golden.
Its height was sixteen times its width,
and the top was a thousandfold.

It had a thousand panels and a hundred ball-caps,
all adorned with banners, and made of sun gold.
There danced the centaurs,
numbering seven times six thousand.

Tatiyavagga

Bhaddajittheragāthā

“Panādo nāma so rājā,
yassa yūpo suvaṇṇayo;
Tiriyaṁ soḷasubbedho,
ubbhamāhu sahassadhā.

Sahassakaṇḍo satageṇḍu,
dhajālu haritāmayo;
Anaccuṁ tattha gandhabbā,
chasahassāni sattadhā”ti.
