1. Das erste Kapitel

Ajina

Selbst auf einen Meister des dreifachen Wissens,
unbefleckt, Überwinder des Todes,
schauen unwissende Toren herab,
weil er unbekannt ist.

Aber jede Person hier,
die Speise und Trank erhält,
wird von ihnen geehrt,
selbst wenn sie einen schlechten Charakter hat.

Chapter One

Ajina

Even a master of the three knowledges,
undefiled, conqueror of death,
is looked down upon for being unknown
by ignorant fools.

But any individual here
who gets food and drink
is honored by them,
even if they are of bad character.

Paṭhamavagga

Ajinattheragāthā

“Api ce hoti tevijjo,
maccuhāyī anāsavo;
Appaññātoti naṁ bālā,
avajānanti ajānatā.

Yo ca kho annapānassa,
lābhī hotidha puggalo;
Pāpadhammopi ce hoti,
so nesaṁ hoti sakkato”ti.
