One Root

„Eine die Wurzel, zwei die Schlaufen,
drei die Flecken, fünf die Schichten,
und das Meer, der zwölfte Strudel:
Das ist der Abgrund, den der Seher überquert hat.“

“One the root, two the loops,
three the stains, five the spreads,
and the ocean, the twelfth whirlpool:
such is the abyss crossed by the seer.”

“Ekamūlaṁ dvirāvaṭṭaṁ,
timalaṁ pañcapattharaṁ;
Samuddaṁ dvādasāvaṭṭaṁ,
pātālaṁ atarī isī”ti.
