„Mönche und Nonnen, ich will euch die Vielfalt der Elemente lehren. Hört zu … Und was ist die Vielfalt der Elemente? Das Bildelement, das Tonelement, das Geruchselement, das Geschmackselement, das Berührungselement und das Vorstellungselement – das nennt man die Vielfalt der Elemente.“

“Mendicants, I will teach you the diversity of elements. And what is the diversity of elements? The sight element, the sound element, the smell element, the taste element, the touch element, and the idea element. This is called the diversity of elements.”
Bāhiradhātunānattasutta
Sāvatthiyaṁ viharati.
“Dhātunānattaṁ vo, bhikkhave, desessāmi. Taṁ suṇātha …pe… katamañca, bhikkhave, dhātunānattaṁ? Rūpadhātu saddadhātu gandhadhātu rasadhātu phoṭṭhabbadhātu dhammadhātu— idaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, dhātunānattan”ti.
