„Was denkt ihr, Mönche und Nonnen? Betrachtet ihr Form so: ‚Das ist mein, das bin ich, das ist mein Selbst‘?“

„Nein, Herr.“

„Gut, Mönche und Nonnen! Form sollte man wahrhaftig mit rechter Weisheit so sehen: ‚Das ist nicht mein, das bin nicht ich, das ist nicht mein Selbst.‘ Betrachtet ihr Gefühl so … Betrachtet ihr Wahrnehmung so … Betrachtet ihr Willensbildungsprozesse so … Betrachtet ihr Bewusstsein so: ‚Das ist mein, das bin ich, das ist mein Selbst‘?“

„Nein, Herr.“

„Gut, Mönche und Nonnen! Bewusstsein sollte man wahrhaftig mit rechter Weisheit so sehen: ‚Das ist nicht mein, das bin nicht ich, das ist nicht mein Selbst.‘

Wenn er das sieht … Er versteht: ‚… es gibt nichts weiter für diesen Ort.‘“

“What do you think, mendicants? Do you regard form like this: ‘This is mine, I am this, this is my self’?”

“No, sir.”

“Good, mendicants! Form should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.’ Do you regard feeling … perception … choices … consciousness like this: ‘This is mine, I am this, this is my self’?”

“No, sir.”

“Good, mendicants! Consciousness should be truly seen with right understanding like this: ‘This is not mine, I am not this, this is not my self.’

Seeing this … They understand: ‘… there is nothing further for this place.’”

Paripucchitasutta

Sāvatthinidānaṁ.

“Taṁ kiṁ maññatha, bhikkhave, rūpaṁ ‘etaṁ mama, esohamasmi, eso me attā’ti samanupassathā”ti?

“No hetaṁ, bhante”.

“Sādhu, bhikkhave. Rūpaṁ, bhikkhave, ‘netaṁ mama, nesohamasmi, na meso attā’ti evametaṁ yathābhūtaṁ sammappaññāya daṭṭhabbaṁ. Vedanaṁ … saññaṁ … saṅkhāre … viññāṇaṁ ‘etaṁ mama, esohamasmi, eso me attā’ti samanupassathā”ti?

“No hetaṁ, bhante”.
