Impermanence

Unbeständigkeit

So habe ich es gehört: In Sāvatthī.

„Mönche und Nonnen, Form, Gefühl, Wahrnehmung, Willensbildungsprozesse und Bewusstsein sind unbeständig.

Wenn er das sieht, wird ein gebildeter edler Schüler ernüchtert von Form, Gefühl, Wahrnehmung, Willensbildungsprozessen und Bewusstsein. Wenn er ernüchtert ist, schwindet die Leidenschaft. Wenn die Leidenschaft schwindet, ist er befreit. Wenn er befreit ist, weiß er, dass er befreit ist.

Er versteht: ‚Wiedergeburt ist beendet; das geistliche Leben ist erfüllt; was zu tun war, ist getan; es gibt nichts weiter für diesen Ort.‘“

Impermanence

So I have heard. At Sāvatthī.

“Mendicants, form, feeling, perception, choices, and consciousness are impermanent.

Seeing this, a learned noble disciple grows disillusioned with form, feeling, perception, choices, and consciousness. Being disillusioned, desire fades away. When desire fades away they’re freed. When they’re freed, they know they’re freed.

They understand: ‘Rebirth is ended, the spiritual journey has been completed, what had to be done has been done, there is nothing further for this place.’”

Aniccasutta

Evaṁ me sutaṁ— sāvatthiyaṁ.

“rūpaṁ, bhikkhave, aniccaṁ, vedanā aniccā, saññā aniccā, saṅkhārā aniccā, viññāṇaṁ aniccaṁ.

Evaṁ passaṁ, bhikkhave, sutavā ariyasāvako rūpasmimpi nibbindati, vedanāyapi nibbindati, saññāyapi nibbindati, saṅkhāresupi nibbindati, viññāṇasmimpi nibbindati. Nibbindaṁ virajjati; virāgā vimuccati. Vimuttasmiṁ vimuttamiti ñāṇaṁ hoti.

‘Khīṇā jāti, vusitaṁ brahmacariyaṁ, kataṁ karaṇīyaṁ, nāparaṁ itthattāyā’ti pajānātī”ti.
