Der Zug zum Dasein

In Sāvatthī.

Als er sich zur Seite hingesetzt hatte, sagte der Ehrwürdige Rādha zum Buddha:

„Herr, man spricht von dieser Sache, die ‚das Aufhören des Zugs zum Dasein‘ genannt wird. Was ist der Zug zum Dasein? Und was ist das Aufhören des Zugs zum Dasein?“

„Rādha, jegliches Sehnen, Begehren, Genießen und Verlangen in Bezug auf Form, ebenso Anziehung, Ergreifen, geistige Fixierung, Auf-etwas-Bestehen und zugrunde liegende Neigungen – das nennt man den Zug zum Dasein. Das Aufhören dieser Dinge ist das Aufhören des Zugs zum Dasein.

Jegliches Sehnen, Begehren, Genießen und Verlangen in Bezug auf Gefühl … Jegliches Sehnen, Begehren, Genießen und Verlangen in Bezug auf Wahrnehmung … Jegliches Sehnen, Begehren, Genießen und Verlangen in Bezug auf Willensbildungsprozesse … Jegliches Sehnen, Begehren, Genießen und Verlangen in Bezug auf Bewusstsein, ebenso Anziehung, Ergreifen, geistige Fixierung, Auf-etwas-Bestehen und zugrunde liegende Neigungen – das nennt man den Zug zum Dasein. Das Aufhören dieser Dinge ist das Aufhören des Zugs zum Dasein.“

The Leash to Existence

At Sāvatthī.

Seated to one side, Venerable Rādha said to the Buddha:

“Sir, they speak of this thing called ‘the cessation of the leash to existence’. What is the leash to existence? And what is the cessation of the leash to existence?”

“Rādha, any desire, greed, relishing, and craving for form; and any attraction, grasping, mental fixation, insistence, and underlying tendencies— this is called the leash to existence. Their cessation is the cessation of the leash to existence.

Any desire, greed, relishing, and craving for feeling … perception … choices … consciousness; and any attraction, grasping, mental fixation, insistence, and underlying tendencies— this is called the leash to existence. Their cessation is the cessation of the leash to existence.”

Bhavanettisutta

Sāvatthinidānaṁ.

Ekamantaṁ nisinno kho āyasmā rādho bhagavantaṁ etadavoca:

“‘bhavanettinirodho, bhavanettinirodho’ti, bhante, vuccati. Katamā nu kho, bhante, bhavanetti, katamo bhavanettinirodho”ti?

“Rūpe kho, rādha, yo chando yo rāgo yā nandī yā taṇhā ye upayupādānā cetaso adhiṭṭhānābhinivesānusayā— ayaṁ vuccati bhavanetti. Tesaṁ nirodho bhavanettinirodho.

Vedanāya … saññāya … saṅkhāresu … viññāṇe yo chando …pe… adhiṭṭhānābhinivesānusayā— ayaṁ vuccati bhavanetti. Tesaṁ nirodho bhavanettinirodho”ti.
