In Sāvatthī.

Da ging der Wanderer Vacchagotta zum Buddha und tauschte Willkommensgrüße mit ihm aus. Nach der Begrüßung und dem Austausch von Höflichkeiten setzte er sich zur Seite hin und sagte zum Buddha:

„Was ist der Grund, werter Gotama, was ist die Ursache, dass diese verschiedenen Arten von Irrglauben in der Welt erscheinen …?“

„Vaccha, es ist, weil man Form nicht unmittelbar erfährt … weil man Gefühl nicht unmittelbar erfährt … weil man Wahrnehmung nicht unmittelbar erfährt … weil man Willensbildungsprozesse nicht unmittelbar erfährt …“

At Sāvatthī.

Then the wanderer Vacchagotta went up to the Buddha and exchanged greetings with him. When the greetings and polite conversation were over, he sat down to one side, and said to the Buddha:

“What is the cause, worthy Gotama, what is the reason why these various misconceptions arise in the world? …”

“Vaccha, it is because of not directly experiencing form … feeling … perception … choices …”

Rūpaappaccakkhakammādisuttacatukka

Sāvatthinidānaṁ.

Atha kho vacchagotto paribbājako yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavatā saddhiṁ sammodi. Sammodanīyaṁ kathaṁ sāraṇīyaṁ vītisāretvā ekamantaṁ nisīdi. Ekamantaṁ nisinno kho vacchagotto paribbājako bhagavantaṁ etadavoca:

“ko nu kho, bho gotama, hetu, ko paccayo, yānimāni anekavihitāni diṭṭhigatāni loke uppajjanti— sassato lokoti vā …pe… neva hoti na na hoti tathāgato paraṁ maraṇāti vā”ti?

“Rūpe kho, vaccha, appaccakkhakammā, rūpasamudaye appaccakkhakammā, rūpanirodhe appaccakkhakammā, rūpanirodhagāminiyā paṭipadāya appaccakkhakammā …pe….

Sāvatthinidānaṁ. “Vedanāya kho, vaccha, appaccakkhakammā …pe… vedanānirodhagāminiyā paṭipadāya appaccakkhakammā …pe….

Sāvatthinidānaṁ. “Saññāya kho, vaccha, appaccakkhakammā …pe… saññānirodhagāminiyā paṭipadāya appaccakkhakammā …pe….

Sāvatthinidānaṁ. “Saṅkhāresu kho, vaccha, appaccakkhakammā …pe… saṅkhāranirodhagāminiyā paṭipadāya appaccakkhakammā …pe….
