Trost
„Geehrter Sāriputta, man spricht von dieser Sache, die ‚Trost erlangen‘ genannt wird. Inwiefern erlangt man Trost?“
„Geehrter, da versteht ein Mönch bei den sechs Kontaktfeldern wahrhaftig den Ursprung, das Vergehen, die Befriedigung, den Nachteil und das Entrinnen; insofern hat er Trost erlangt.“
„Aber, Geehrter, gibt es einen Pfad und eine Übung, um diesen Trost zu verwirklichen?“
„Ja, Geehrter, es gibt einen solchen Pfad.“ …
Solace
“Reverend Sāriputta, they speak of this thing called ‘gaining solace’. At what point do you gain solace?”
“When a mendicant truly understands the six fields of contact’s origin, disappearance, gratification, drawback, and escape, at that point they’ve gained solace.”
“But, reverend, is there a path and a practice for realizing this solace?”
“There is.” …

“‘Assāsappatto, assāsappatto’ti, āvuso sāriputta, vuccati. Kittāvatā nu kho, āvuso, assāsappatto hotī”ti?
“Yato kho, āvuso, bhikkhu channaṁ phassāyatanānaṁ samudayañca atthaṅgamañca assādañca ādīnavañca nissaraṇañca yathābhūtaṁ pajānāti, ettāvatā kho, āvuso, assāsappatto hotī”ti.
“Atthi panāvuso, maggo atthi paṭipadā, etassa assāsassa sacchikiriyāyā”ti?
“Atthi kho, āvuso, maggo atthi paṭipadā, etassa assāsassa sacchikiriyāyā”ti.
“Katamo panāvuso, maggo katamā paṭipadā, etassa assāsassa sacchikiriyāyā”ti? “Ayameva kho, āvuso, ariyo aṭṭhaṅgiko maggo etassa assāsassa sacchikiriyāya, seyyathidaṁ— sammādiṭṭhi …pe… sammāsamādhi. Ayaṁ kho, āvuso, maggo ayaṁ paṭipadā, etassa assāsassa sacchikiriyāyā”ti. “Bhaddako, āvuso, maggo bhaddikā paṭipadā, etassa assāsassa sacchikiriyāya. Alañca panāvuso sāriputta, appamādāyā”ti.
