Hindernisse

„Mönche und Nonnen, es gibt fünf Hindernisse. Welche fünf? Das Hindernis des sinnlichen Begehrens, des bösen Willens, der Dumpfheit und Benommenheit, der Rastlosigkeit und Reue sowie des Zweifels. Das sind die fünf Hindernisse.

Der edle achtfache Pfad soll entwickelt werden, um diese fünf Hindernisse unmittelbar einzusehen, vollständig zu verstehen, zu beenden und aufzugeben.“

Hindrances

“Mendicants, there are these five hindrances. What five? The hindrances of sensual desire, ill will, dullness and drowsiness, restlessness and remorse, and doubt. These are the five hindrances.

The noble eightfold path should be developed for the direct knowledge, complete understanding, finishing, and giving up of these five hindrances.”

Nīvaraṇasutta

“Pañcimāni, bhikkhave, nīvaraṇāni. Katamāni pañca? Kāmacchandanīvaraṇaṁ, byāpādanīvaraṇaṁ, thinamiddhanīvaraṇaṁ, uddhaccakukkuccanīvaraṇaṁ, vicikicchānīvaraṇaṁ— imāni kho, bhikkhave, pañca nīvaraṇāni.

Imesaṁ kho, bhikkhave, pañcannaṁ nīvaraṇānaṁ abhiññāya pariññāya parikkhayāya pahānāya …pe… ayaṁ ariyo aṭṭhaṅgiko maggo bhāvetabbo”ti.
