Und was ist das Brahmanentum? Es ist einfach dieser edle achtfache Pfad: nämlich rechte Ansicht, rechtes Denken, rechte Rede, rechtes Handeln, rechter Lebenserwerb, rechter Einsatz, rechte Achtsamkeit und rechte Versenkung. Das nennt man das Brahmanentum.

Und was ist das Ziel des Brahmanentums? Die Auflösung von Gier, Hass und Täuschung – das nennt man das Ziel des Brahmanentums.“

And what is life as a brahmin? It is simply this noble eightfold path, that is: right view, right purpose, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right immersion. This is called life as a brahmin.

And what is the goal of life as a brahmin? The ending of greed, hate, and delusion. This is called the goal of life as a brahmin.”

“Brahmaññañca vo, bhikkhave, desessāmi, brahmaññatthañca. Taṁ suṇātha.

Katamañca, bhikkhave, brahmaññaṁ? Ayameva ariyo aṭṭhaṅgiko maggo, seyyathidaṁ— sammādiṭṭhi …pe… sammāsamādhi. Idaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, brahmaññaṁ.
