„Mönche und Nonnen, es gibt fünf Fähigkeiten. Welche fünf? Die Fähigkeit des Vertrauens, der Energie, der Achtsamkeit, der Versenkung und der Weisheit. Das sind die fünf Fähigkeiten.

Wer diese fünf Fähigkeiten erfüllt und vervollkommnet hat, ist vollendet. Wenn sie schwächer sind, ist man ein Nichtwiederkehrer … ein Einmalwiederkehrer … in den Strom eingetreten … ein Nachfolger der Lehren … ein Nachfolger durch Vertrauen.

Also, Mönche und Nonnen, wenn ihr teilweise übt, habt ihr teilweise Erfolg. Wenn ihr umfassend übt, habt ihr umfassend Erfolg. Diese fünf Fähigkeiten sind nicht umsonst, sage ich.“

“Mendicants, there are these five faculties. What five? The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom. These are the five faculties.

Someone who has completed and fulfilled these five faculties is a perfected one. If they are weaker than that, they’re a non-returner … a once-returner … a stream-enterer … a follower of teachings … a follower by faith.

So, mendicants, if you practice partially you succeed partially. If you practice fully you succeed fully. But in any case, these five faculties are not barren, I say.”

Tatiyasaṅkhittasutta

“Pañcimāni, bhikkhave, indriyāni. Katamāni pañca? Saddhindriyaṁ …pe… paññindriyaṁ— imāni kho, bhikkhave, pañcindriyāni.

Imesaṁ kho, bhikkhave, pañcannaṁ indriyānaṁ samattā paripūrattā arahaṁ hoti, tato mudutarehi anāgāmī hoti, tato mudutarehi sakadāgāmī hoti, tato mudutarehi sotāpanno hoti, tato mudutarehi dhammānusārī hoti, tato mudutarehi saddhānusārī hoti.

Iti kho, bhikkhave, paripūraṁ paripūrakārī ārādheti, padesaṁ padesakārī ārādheti. ‘Avañjhāni tvevāhaṁ, bhikkhave, pañcindriyānī’ti vadāmī”ti.
