„Mönche und Nonnen, von allem Bäumen, die den Göttern der Dreiunddreißig gehören, gilt der Sonnenschirm-Orchideenbaum als der beste. Ebenso gilt die Fähigkeit der Weisheit als die beste der Eigenschaften, die zum Erwachen führen, wenn es darum geht, zu erwachen.

Und was sind die Eigenschaften, die zum Erwachen führen? Die Fähigkeit des Vertrauens ist eine Eigenschaft, die zum Erwachen führt, denn sie führt zum Erwachen. Die Fähigkeit der Energie … Die Fähigkeit der Achtsamkeit … Die Fähigkeit der Versenkung … Die Fähigkeit der Weisheit ist eine Eigenschaft, die zum Erwachen führt, denn sie führt zum Erwachen.

Von allem Bäumen, die den Göttern der Dreiunddreißig gehören, gilt der Sonnenschirm-Orchideenbaum als der beste. Ebenso gilt die Fähigkeit der Weisheit als die beste der Eigenschaften, die zum Erwachen führen, wenn es darum geht, zu erwachen.“

“Mendicants, of all the trees belonging to the gods of the thirty-three, the Orchid Tree is said to be the best. In the same way, the faculty of wisdom is said to be the best of the qualities on the side of awakening; that is, for becoming awakened.

And what are the qualities on the side of awakening? The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom are qualities on the side of awakening, in that they lead to awakening.

Of all the trees belonging to the gods of the thirty-three, the Orchid Tree is said to be the best. In the same way, the faculty of wisdom is said to be the best of the qualities on the side of awakening; that is, for becoming awakened.”

Dutiyarukkhasutta

“Seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, ye keci devānaṁ tāvatiṁsānaṁ rukkhā, pārichattako tesaṁ aggamakkhāyati; evameva kho, bhikkhave, ye keci bodhipakkhiyā dhammā, paññindriyaṁ tesaṁ aggamakkhāyati, yadidaṁ—bodhāya.

Katame ca, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyā dhammā? Saddhindriyaṁ, bhikkhave, bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taṁ bodhāya saṁvattati. Vīriyindriyaṁ …pe… satindriyaṁ … samādhindriyaṁ … paññindriyaṁ bodhipakkhiyo dhammo, taṁ bodhāya saṁvattati.
