„Mönche und Nonnen, wenn vier Dinge entwickelt und gemehrt werden, führen sie zu großer Weisheit. Welche vier? Umgang mit wahren Menschen, der wahren Lehre zuhören, wohlüberlegter Gebrauch des Geistes und im Einklang mit der Lehre üben. Wenn diese vier Dinge entwickelt und gemehrt werden, führen sie zu großer Weisheit.“

Great Wisdom

“Mendicants, when four things are developed and cultivated they lead to great wisdom. What four? Associating with true persons, listening to the true teaching, rational application of mind, and practicing in line with the teaching. When these four things are developed and cultivated they lead to great wisdom.”

Mahāpaññāsutta

“Cattārome, bhikkhave, dhammā bhāvitā bahulīkatā mahāpaññatāya saṁvattanti. Katame cattāro? Sappurisasaṁsevo, saddhammassavanaṁ, yonisomanasikāro, dhammānudhammappaṭipatti— ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro dhammā bhāvitā bahulīkatā mahāpaññatāya saṁvattantī”ti.
