„Mönche und Nonnen, ich habe erklärt: ‚Das ist die edle Wahrheit vom Leiden.‘ Und es gibt dafür unendlich viele Erklärungen, Ausdrücke und Bezeichnungen: ‚Das ist eine andere Art, zu sagen, dass das die edle Wahrheit vom Leiden ist.‘ Ich habe erklärt: ‚Das ist die edle Wahrheit vom Ursprung des Leidens.‘ … Ich habe erklärt: ‚Das ist die edle Wahrheit vom Aufhören des Leidens.‘ … Ich habe erklärt: ‚Das ist die edle Wahrheit von der Übung, die zum Aufhören des Leidens führt.‘ Und es gibt dafür unendlich viele Erklärungen, Ausdrücke und Bezeichnungen: ‚Das ist eine andere Art, zu sagen, dass das die edle Wahrheit von der Übung ist, die zum Aufhören des Leidens führt.‘

Aus diesem Grund sollt ihr Meditation üben – um zu verstehen: ‚Das ist das Leiden.‘ … ‚Das ist die Übung, die zum Aufhören des Leidens führt.‘“

“Mendicants, I’ve declared: ‘This is the noble truth of suffering.’ And there are limitless explanations, phrases, and expressions about that: ‘This is another way of saying that this is the noble truth of suffering.’ I’ve declared: ‘This is the noble truth of the origin of suffering.’ … I’ve declared: ‘This is the noble truth of the cessation of suffering.’ … I’ve declared: ‘This is the noble truth of the practice that leads to the cessation of suffering.’ And there are limitless explanations, phrases, and expressions about that: ‘This is another way of saying that this is the noble truth of the practice that leads to the cessation of suffering.’

“‘Idaṁ dukkhaṁ ariyasaccan’ti, bhikkhave, mayā paññattaṁ. Tattha aparimāṇā vaṇṇā aparimāṇā byañjanā aparimāṇā saṅkāsanā: ‘itipidaṁ dukkhaṁ ariyasaccan’ti; idaṁ dukkhasamudayaṁ …pe… idaṁ dukkhanirodhaṁ …pe… ‘idaṁ dukkhanirodhagāminī paṭipadā ariyasaccan’ti, bhikkhave, mayā paññattaṁ. Tattha aparimāṇā vaṇṇā aparimāṇā byañjanā aparimāṇā saṅkāsanā: ‘itipidaṁ dukkhanirodhagāminī paṭipadā ariyasaccan’ti.
