Die Welt

„Mönche und Nonnen, es gibt vier edle Wahrheiten. Welche vier? Die edlen Wahrheiten vom Leiden, vom Ursprung des Leidens, vom Aufhören des Leidens und von der Übung, die zum Aufhören des Leidens führt. In dieser Welt mit ihren Göttern, Māras und Brahmās, unter dieser Bevölkerung mit ihren Asketen und Brahmanen, Göttern und Menschen ist der Klargewordene der Edle. Daher werden diese Wahrheiten ‚edle Wahrheiten‘ genannt.

Aus diesem Grund sollt ihr Meditation üben – um zu verstehen: ‚Das ist das Leiden.‘ … ‚Das ist die Übung, die zum Aufhören des Leidens führt.‘“

“Mendicants, there are these four noble truths. What four? The noble truths of suffering, the origin of suffering, the cessation of suffering, and the practice that leads to the cessation of suffering. In this world with its gods, Māras, and Divinities, this population with its ascetics and brahmins, its gods and humans, the Realized One is the Noble One. That’s why they’re called ‘noble truths’.

That’s why you should practice meditation …”

Lokasutta

“Cattārimāni, bhikkhave, ariyasaccāni. Katamāni cattāri? Dukkhaṁ ariyasaccaṁ, dukkhasamudayaṁ ariyasaccaṁ, dukkhanirodhaṁ ariyasaccaṁ, dukkhanirodhagāminī paṭipadā ariyasaccaṁ. Sadevake loke samārake sabrahmake sassamaṇabrāhmaṇiyā pajāya sadevamanussāya tathāgato ariyo; tasmā ‘ariyasaccānī’ti vuccanti.

Tasmātiha, bhikkhave, ‘idaṁ dukkhan’ti yogo karaṇīyo …pe… ‘ayaṁ dukkhanirodhagāminī paṭipadā’ti yogo karaṇīyo”ti.
