Arten der Suche (2)
Das wurde vom Buddha, dem Vollendeten, gesagt; das habe ich gehört:
„Mönche und Nonnen, es gibt drei Arten der Suche. Welche drei? Suche nach Sinnenfreuden, nach fortgesetztem Dasein und nach einem geistlichen Pfad. Das sind die drei Arten der Suche.“
Der Buddha sprach diese Sache. Dazu wird gesagt:
„Die Suche nach Sinnenfreuden und einer guten Wiedergeburt sowie nach einem geistlichen Pfad; das Festhalten am Gedanken ‚das ist die Wahrheit‘ und an den vielen Grundlagen für Ansichten:
Wer abgelöst ist von allen Lüsten, durch Auflösen des Verlangens befreit, hat vom Suchen abgelassen und diese Standpunkte ausgerottet. Mit der Auflösung des Suchens ist ein Mönch frei von Hoffnung und Unschlüssigkeit.“
Auch das ist eine Sache, die vom Gesegneten gesprochen wurde: Das habe ich gehört.
Chapter One
Searches (2nd)
This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
“Mendicants, there are these three searches. What three? The search for sensual pleasures, the search for continued existence, and the search for a spiritual path. These are the three searches.”
The Buddha spoke this matter. On this it is said:
“The search for sensual pleasures, for a good rebirth, and the search for a spiritual path; the holding tight to the thought, ‘this is the truth’, and the mass of grounds for views—
for one detached from all lusts, freed by the ending of craving, that searching has been relinquished, and those grounds for views eradicated. With the ending of searches, a mendicant is free of hope and indecision.”
This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
Paṭhamavagga
Dutiyaesanāsutta
Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:
“Tisso imā, bhikkhave, esanā. Katamā tisso? Kāmesanā, bhavesanā, brahmacariyesanā— imā kho, bhikkhave, tisso esanā”ti.
Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca. Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:
“Kāmesanā bhavesanā, brahmacariyesanā saha; Iti saccaparāmāso, diṭṭhiṭṭhānā samussayā.
Sabbarāgavirattassa, taṇhakkhayavimuttino; Esanā paṭinissaṭṭhā, diṭṭhiṭṭhānā samūhatā; Esanānaṁ khayā bhikkhu, nirāso akathaṅkathī”ti.
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
