2. Das zweite Kapitel
Das Auge
Das wurde vom Buddha, dem Vollendeten, gesagt; das habe ich gehört:
„Mönche und Nonnen, es gibt drei Augen. Welche drei? Das fleischliche Auge, das hellsichtige Auge und das Auge der Weisheit. Das sind die drei Augen.“
Der Buddha sprach diese Sache. Dazu wird gesagt:
„Das fleischliche Auge, das hellsichtige Auge, das unübertreffliche Auge der Weisheit: Diese drei Augen wurden vom unübertrefflichen Menschen gelehrt.
Das Erscheinen des fleischlichen Auges ist der Pfad zum hellsichtigen Auge. Wenn Erkennen erscheint – das unübertreffliche Auge der Weisheit –, ist jemand, der dieses Auge erlangt, von allem Leiden erlöst.“
Auch das ist eine Sache, die vom Gesegneten gesprochen wurde: Das habe ich gehört.
Chapter Two
The Eye
This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.
“Mendicants, there are these three eyes. What three? The eye of the flesh, the eye of clairvoyance, and the eye of wisdom. These are the three eyes.”
The Buddha spoke this matter. On this it is said:
“The eye of flesh, the clairvoyant eye, the supreme eye of wisdom: these three eyes were taught by the supreme person.
The arising of the eye of flesh is the path to the clairvoyant eye. When knowledge arises— the supreme eye of wisdom— one who gains that eye is released from all suffering.”
This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
Dutiyavagga
Cakkhusutta
Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:
“Tīṇimāni, bhikkhave, cakkhūni. Katamāni tīṇi? Maṁsacakkhu, dibbacakkhu, paññācakkhu— imāni kho, bhikkhave, tīṇi cakkhūnī”ti.
Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca. Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:
“Maṁsacakkhu dibbacakkhu, paññācakkhu anuttaraṁ; Etāni tīṇi cakkhūni, akkhāsi purisuttamo.
Maṁsacakkhussa uppādo, maggo dibbassa cakkhuno; Yato ñāṇaṁ udapādi, paññācakkhu anuttaraṁ; Yassa cakkhussa paṭilābhā, sabbadukkhā pamuccatī”ti.
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
