6. Reconnection Question
The king asked: “Is there anyone who has died, Venerable Nāgasena, who is not reconnected?” The elder said, “There are some who reconnect and some who don’t reconnect.” “Who reconnects and who doesn’t reconnect?” “One with defilements reconnects and one without defilements doesn’t reconnect.” “Will you then reconnect, Venerable Nāgasena?” “If, your majesty, I am with clinging I will reconnect, and if I am without clinging I will not.”
“You are clever, Venerable Nāgasena!”

6. Paṭisandhipañha
Rājā āha— “bhante nāgasena, atthi koci mato na paṭisandahatī”ti. Thero āha— “koci paṭisandahati, koci na paṭisandahatī”ti. “Ko paṭisandahati, ko na paṭisandahatī”ti? “Sakileso, mahārāja, paṭisandahati, nikkileso na paṭisandahatī”ti. “Tvaṁ pana, bhante nāgasena, paṭisandahissasī”ti? “Sace, mahārāja, saupādāno bhavissāmi paṭisandahissāmi, sace anupādāno bhavissāmi na paṭisandahissāmī”ti.
“Kallosi, bhante nāgasenā”ti.
